Remspec Corporation have developed mid-IR transmitting optical fibres
that can be configured for the non-destructive analysis of liquid and
semi-liquid samples (using ATR) and specialised transmission and reflection
probes for gas, liquid and solid sampling.
Using bundles of 500 micron IR fibre matched to a narrow band MCT detector
Remspec probes maintain high optical throughput and flexibility. The
fibres are protected with a stainless steel sheath and can be used for
in-situ analysis that is impossible with conventional IR accessories.
The optical fibre bundles and MCT detector may be connected to most
FTIR instruments that have an external beam. Alternatively Remspec can
provide a turnkey system that incorporates the robust Bruker IRCube
spectrometer.
Additional probes have been developed for high pressure and high temperature
operation, these are suitable for use with high pressure reactors and
industrial machinery such as plastics extruders.
